Namibia in Southern Africa is one of the least populated countries in the world. Flanked by die Namib Desert in the west and the Kalahari Desert in the east, it is dry country. However the Orange River in the south and the Kavango and Kunene Rivers in the north form the borders with South Africa and Angola respectively. Formerly a German colony and administrated by South Africa until independence in 1990. The ruling political party is SWAPO.
